Summary

  • We have submitted three proposals aimed to improve the onboarding experience on Algorand
  • NFD Vault Support and other upgrades to be added to Thurstober Tools
  • Trades and Asset information to be included in Wallet Enhancer
  • New Claims Page is to be created to link apps to web for seemless interface

Our Mission

Since starting The Laboratory (formerly Evil Tools) our mission was to help improve the onboarding experience to Algorand. We have since completed bulk tooling for all the major transaction types, come up with innovative techniques like infinity mode and bulk transfer, and designed a dApp that enhances the wallet experience by adding bulk support.

Heading into 2024, we see the opt-in being a major source of friction that we are looking to correct. We have submitted 3 proposals that are geared towards enhancing and enabling the blockchain experience on Algorand.

xGov 112 — Thurstober Tools — Onboarding Enhancements, Upgrades, and Redesign

In this proposal, the main thing we are looking to add is NFD Vault Support. Here creators can perform functions like enter their root address and it will send out to all their segment holders.

In addition to the vault support, we also intend on adding ARC-0036 Support (Non-Rarity Filters) to our Simple Mint and Update Tools, add in an advanced asset tool so a user can change the Manager, Freeze, and Clawback Address of an ASA, a transaction download history tool, and redesign the site.

xGov 113 — Thurstober Wallet Enhancer — Asset Details and Atomic Swaps

With this tool, we are aiming to improve our wallet enhancer to show asset information. This will allow users to check the metadata of their NFTs. In addition, they will be able to perform functions like Opt In, Opt Out, and Send the NFT. This will make things like sharing an asset much easier.

In addition, we want to add in trade functionality so users can browse another person’s wallet and be able to set up a trade. With the trade, it will be easy for users to automatically opt in and send by using the atomic swap feature of Algorand.

xGov 114 — Thurstober Claims — Atomic Swap Creation and Redemption

This tool is the final piece to the puzzle. A missing piece to the Algorand ecosystem has been the ability to have an app like a discord bot link to a public claim site. With this new feature, bot developers from discord or telegram can create swap links by using our API. This will help improve the onboarding experience as no one will need to manually opt into an asset.

Some examples from developers who have requested this tool are: The ability to claim a designed NFT, the ability to automatically claim a giveaway win, the ability to buy tokens, and the ability to create a swap shop.

To increase the functionality, we will also be making a discord bot as an example. We hope that this will make it easier to adopt this free to use software. In addition, those who do not know how to code will be able to manually set up a swap themselves through a no-code interface.

Looking Forward

After xGov 3, we intend to continue to think of new features and tools requested by the community. We take pride in being able to help serve and grow this ecosystem, while making it easier for the next person to join.
