Summary

  • Evil Tools Repository will be made Open Source
  • Focus on increasing the accessibility for new creators and developers on Algorand
  • Allow for global contributions to the website

Background

Evil Tools was first started as a means to make bulk processes on Algorand easy to use for creators that do not know how to code. With the lack of available developers in the ecosystem, a robust toolset was missing severely, especially when launching on other chains is fairly easy.

The Team at Thurstober Digital Studios embarked on our adventure from the very beginning of NFTs on Algorand. We dealt with all the friction and pain points that came with being early. We wanted to provide a means to facilitate the user experience for the next person. Along with providing no-code tooling, we also wrote creator friendly guides to make Algorand an accessible blockchain. It has been our goal to grow Algorand.

As needs around the ecosystem scaled up, we stepped up to the plate and provided no-code bulk tools for every major transaction type on Algorand. From Opting in and out of assets, to minting, and to finding collection and wallet holdings, we worked hard to make using Algorand easy.

Moving to Open Source

With our toolset complete, we are now shifting our focus to making the space more accessible for developers. We invented novel techniques that include being able to create transactions from CSV files and direct SDK connections to get around pesky wallet limitations.

We have been asked by other products to incorporate new features that help offer even more tools to our collection. With the tools being Open Source, we can easily have developers add functionality through pull requests. Once merged in, Evil Tools can expand multilaterally as chain adoption scales.

Looking Forward

Our first steps after making the code Open Source is to help create more developer guides and edit/refactor some of the code. This will go a long way towards making it even easier for new developers to adopt.
